2016 is off to an exciting and productive start! As we look ahead to Pride, GAPIMNY is thrilled to introduce one of the most ambitious fundraising and engagement campaigns in our 26-year history: Proudly GAPIMNY. The goal of this groundbreaking campaign is to expand our membership from 37 to 100 before Manhattan Pride on June 26.
Proudly GAPIMNY aims to better engage with the 1,000+ queer Asian and Pacific Islander (QAPI) men and transgender folks who already attend our programs or receive our newsletter. It will also open communication with an entirely new generation of individuals from our community who embody a range of ages, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, and gender expressions.
We are writing today to ask you to join GAPIMNY as a member. Your membership will support:
- Safe and supportive spaces for QAPI men and transgender individuals to connect, come out, and discuss issues impacting our lives
- Visibility initiatives that raise the voices of QAPIs, including marches in Pride and Lunar New Year parades
- Political campaigns advocating on issues such as immigration, sexual racism, homophobia, transgender exclusion, and many others
- Organizational nuts and bolts, such as website maintenance, space rentals, and marketing
