Description: The varied terrain of this hike, just north of Nyack, provides a moderately challenging experience. Expect to see a number of hawks, or even bald eagles, from the summit of Hook Mountain – it’s a fly by for these kinds of birds. The trail runs parallel to the Hudson along a series of high ridges offering frequent broad vistas of the river looking in all directions. The trail crosses open and forested areas and rock outcroppings several hundred feet above the Hudson, then loops around to go to the water. The hike is mostly flat on the return walk to historic Nyack. We should finish there around 4pm with option of an early dinner in Nyack.
All are welcome, so hope to see you there!
