On April 11, 2018, a broad coalition of 256 civil and human rights organizations, including GAPIMNY, called on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to discontinue its recently-announced policy of detaining pregnant individuals, asking that instead they be released to continue their cases outside of detention. No one, regardless of immigration status, should be denied necessary reproductive healthcare.
GAPIMNY will continue to resist the regressive policies of this federal administration on all fronts, including reproductive justice. As we know, our struggles are connected: LGBTQ rights = reproductive justice = racial justice = immigrant rights, and we will continue to call attention to policies that target the most vulnerable in our communities.
