GAPIMNY is co-endorsing the mass rally with the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys, other attorneys, and community and immigrant organizations, to demand that the Office of Court Administration and Chief Judge Janet DiFiore implement a policy to bar ICE agents from entering NY Court property. Immigrants, regardless of immigration status, are entitled to due process and access to justice through the judicial system. To make the courts a site for ICE raids is a gross violation of basic human rights and deters immigrants who are already wary of the our justice system.
