When Jennifer Laude, a Filipina transwoman, is brutally murdered by a U.S. Marine, three women intimately invested in the case–Virgie Suarez, an activist attorney; Meredith Talusan, a transgender journalist; and Julita Nanay, Jennifer’s mother–galvanize a political uprising, pursuing justice and taking on hardened histories of US imperialism.
GAPIMNY presents a screening of “Call Her Ganda”, a film by PJ Raval. Dinner will be catered by the Militant Manatee. Discussion to follow.

Access Notes: The screening will take place in the basement of NWS which is NOT wheelchair accessible. Gender neutral single person restrooms are available on both floors.
