Join SALGA this Wednesday for a community-wide Conversation and Speak Out on Immigration & Profiling & Policing during NQAPIA’s National Week of Action #RedefineSecurity. Through the Week of Action, we have three main goals:

  1. Call for an end of legalized profiling and policing in queer & trans* API communities, and all communities of color
  2. Lift up the stories of queer and trans* APIs who experience profiling based on race/ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.
  3. Challenge our investments in policing, especially around Pride, and reimagine alternative forms of safety

  • Nishan Bhaumik, LGBTQ API Advocacy & Legal Services at the NYC Anti-Violence Project
  • Shaktii Mann, Political Organizer & Educator
  • Karen Naimool, Educator & Activist
