2G, in collaboration with GAPIMNY, Q-Wave, and SALGA, is proud to announce “Community Voices: Queer API” a new groundbreaking space for unheard new writers, supporting vital perspectives and urgent new stories about the Asian-American experience. Led by Deen, a first-generation South Asian American playwright and performer, this writing workshop will support queer, Asian writers interested in exploring their relationship to “gender.” Diversity is a priority for “Community Voices” and we welcome applications from all members of our Asian-American community who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Queer, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming. No prior theatre experience is required.
For more information, or to apply to “Community Voices: Queer API,” please visit www.2g.org/community-voices/ and submit your application via email to [email protected] by December 7th, 2012. A Selection Committee of community organizers and playwrights will chose up to nine writers and selected applicants will be contacted by 2g by early January 2013.
