Writers, singers, poets, performers, creative folks — come together and make your voices heard! Q-Wave, with GAPIMNY and Gabriela NY, brings you a FREE, ALL AGES Queer Asian Open Mic event in the heart of Brooklyn, hosted by slam poet Kit Yan and singer-songwriter Melissa Li!
Signup begins at 1:30PM. Come early to put your name down to perform on the signup sheet. Each performer will have 3-5 minutes on stage.
We aim to create a safe, trans-inclusive, sex-positive space that celebrates all identities, so any content that is racist, homophobic, ableist, transphobic will not be tolerated. Allies welcome to attend and perform!
Branded Saloon’s stage is fairly small and won’t be ideal for dance groups, or performances requiring a lot of physical space. There will be 3 mics and mic stands, an input jack for guitar or electric instruments, an upright piano, and a guitar for general use. If anyone needs anything specific for their performance, please email [email protected] beforehand or bring your own gear.
PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS! We hope to make this a quarterly event, so let’s pack the house and share space, stories, and art with each other. 🙂
