“GAPIMNY has dedicated itself to empowering queer and trans Asian Pacific Islanders, and more than anyone else, Yuh-Line Niou has emerged as an unquestioned leader in the fight for dignity and protections for our community. She will be a phenomenal member of Congress, and we trust she will bring the same energy to fighting for LGBTQ+ protections on the federal level. Our country needs more fearless champions of equality like Yuh-Line. Voters in New York will have that chance on Tuesday August, 23. We urge them to support Yuh-Line Niou.” – Jason Wu, Co-Chair of GAPIMNY
Yuh-Line has been fighting for New Yorkers in government and advocacy roles for over a decade, first serving as Chief of Staff to Assemblymember Ron Kim. In 2016, she was elected in a historic landslide victory to represent New York’s 65th Assembly District, becoming the first AAPI woman in the NYS Assembly and the first Asian-American to represent Chinatown in the State Legislature. Since then, she has built a movement in the State to fight for transparency, accessibility, and accountability in our government.
If you are in New York’s 10th Congressional District and are registered to vote for the Democratic primaries, you can vote for Yuh-Line Niou. Her biggest competitor is multi-millionaire Dan Goldman, who has plenty of funds at his disposal. Please consider donating to her campaign!
